AKRONSuspect arrestedAKRON: Police arrested an 18-year-old Akron man Friday night in connection with the July shooting death of a Strongsville man.Gevonte D. Hunter, who has a Hollywood Avenue address, was spotted by police driving a vehicle in the city. He is being held in the Summit County Jail on a murder warrant.Akron police said the victim, Salim Suleiman, 26, had been staying in Akron. He was in the parking lot of a drive-through on Copley Road when he was shot.Vets freeAKRON: The Akron Zoo will offer free admission to all military personnel and veterans today and Sunday in recognition of Veterans Day.Veterans or people currently serving in the military will have to show a military ID to receive the discount.The Akron Zoo, at 500 Edgewood Drive, will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. as part of its winter hours. Current adult education classes listed in the district’s fall brochure will continue as published.Stark State will administer and market the Community Education program. The district will transfer its student mailing list, and future course offerings will come from Stark State.Superintendent Michael Gallina said operation of the program by the school district is a duplication of services.
